Exciting News from Tete Province and Malawi!

Dear friends of Tete Province,

I want to share with you some of the exciting things that are unfolding in Tete Province in 2022. In spite of COVID restrictions, a shortage of skilled workers, raging inflation, and more rain than normal, we are experiencing a banner year. We are on track to drill 20 wells this year, with locations in both Tete Province (15) and neighboring Malawi (5). The need for clean water seems overwhelming, but we are truly making a difference. This will be a new yearly record for wells drilled by us.

We are constructing five new churches this year with three in Tete Province and two in Malawi. Our tried and true formula is still working. The villagers and church members provide the land, clear the site, gather sand and stones, make and fire the bricks, and provide unskilled labor. We provide financial aid to procure the items they cannot afford such as cement, iron roofing sheets, and skilled labor. The cost of materials has increased greatly due to inflation and we are struggling to stay within our budgets. We have been blessed with some donors who have given funds to help us with increased costs.

At the health clinic in the village of Madzimaera, we are adding a shelter for mothers waiting to deliver their babies and a new kitchen. This clinic is a wonderful asset for the rural villagers who need medical attention but live so far from a hospital.

We plan to construct three new school additions this year in the rural villages of Tete Province. Two school blocks are well underway, and we hope to start the third one soon. We are waiting for workers who are currently constructing churches or clinic additions to start this third school. Education is so vital in ending the cycle of poverty. Students are eager to attend school, and we are thrilled to be able to help provide this opportunity.

In addition to these construction aspects of our Holistic Evangelism Project, our leadership training seminars have had record attendance. Lay leaders are being trained to lead our 80+ churches served by only three pastors. In addition to this lay church leader training, we have active training for traditional birth attendants and village health assistants.

Our ministries are being led by Sebber Banda and her assistant director, Rev. Carlos Faquione. I cannot say enough about Sebber and Carlos. They are dedicated servant leaders who love the Lord and serve Him faithfully. Sebber's children, Adam and Nancy, are well and pursuing their college education. Adam hopes to graduate in 2023 with a degree in bioengineering. Nancy has had a good freshman year in college. Carlos and his wife and family are also doing well. We are so blessed to have Sebber and Carlos direct our Holistic Evangelism Project.

The Lord has richly blessed our work this year, and I thank Him for your prayers and faithful support. All glory, praise, and honor to our Lord and Savior.

Blessings!
