PCEA Church Construction in Kenya — Dedication of PCEA Ndigu-Ini Church

Through years of faithful partnership, the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) and The Outreach Foundation have built many churches in East Africa. Outreach East Africa Mission Consultant Stu Ross sent this joyful news about a recent church dedication:

This Ndigu-Ini congregation was started in 1992 when members from the area felt their walk to their church was too far, especially for the elderly and the very young. They organized themselves and worshipped in an open field on the chief’s homestead.

In 1994, elders from several churches held a fundraising and raised enough to buy a plot of land. In the same year, Kikuyu Presbytery Youth Fellowship constructed a small church for them free of charge. They worshipped in this church until 2019 when they were unable to fit all their members inside. Between 2019 and 2022, during COVID, they completed all the masonry work on their new church. In January 2023 they came to us for help with the finishing including all the windows, doors, and roofing. The church was completed in March of this year.

The Moderator of Kikuyu Presbytery officiated over the dedication on April 16. The new building has a seating capacity of 500 and the church was full!

Grateful for your partnership,

Stu Ross
