Pakistan Bible Correspondence School and Pakistan Christian Recording Ministries – October 2022 Update

Pakistan Bible Correspondence School
Ministry Essentials Training Program

In October, the Pakistan Bible Correspondence School launched the Ministry Essentials Training Program (METP). This program developed out of The Outreach Foundation’s visit in March 2022 as we learned about the leadership development needs of rural pastors. METP is a one-year, twelve-course program that provides a leadership certificate from Summit Pacific College, an accredited college in Canada. Five veteran Presbyterian pastors from Pakistan are among the course facilitators who attended the training event. Students were pastors and lay leaders from various denominations in rural areas of Pakistan.

The goal of the program is not simply to educate but to foster character formation and healthy leadership in a challenging part of the world. The Outreach Foundation sees this as a critical tool for equipping the least resourced church leaders to build up the body of Christ. Each course lasts two days, and covers many topics including Knowing and Loving God; Caring for the People of God; Marriage, Family, and Ministry; and Developing Christian Leaders.

Here is a testimonial from the training weekend:

I was quite excited to know more about the course and its purpose. I was impressed by the vision of METP, especially how it is designed to equip leaders for remote areas where opportunities are few and the harvest is plentiful.   Rev. Pakistan Christian Recording Ministries
Listeners’ Conference in Northern Pakistan

The Pakistan Christian Recording Ministries provides regular teachings about the Bible, God, and living as godly people caring for society, family, and creation. The audience numbers into the thousands across all of Pakistan.

A few times each year, PCRM gathers listeners in “Listeners’ Conferences” to delve more deeply into listeners’ questions and hold conversations in a secure environment.

The Listeners’ Conference held in the summer of 2022 provided an opportunity for PCRM leadership to meet with 60 listeners and go deeper into conversations about the Bible, Jesus, and the Christian life. The conference lasted four days and consisted of feasting, music, worship, study times, prayer, and individual counseling. Of the 60 in attendance, 48 were Muslims from Pakistan and Afghanistan, with positive responses.

Please pray for the leadership of PCRM and PBCS, that their ministry will continue unabated, that the students and listeners they serve will continue to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and for the protection of their facilities as they carry out their bold witness in a context of great persecution.
