Where Needed Most

Dear friends:

A popular fund that many donors have relied upon and supported for years at The Outreach Foundation is called the Where Needed Most Appeal. As the name implies, the funds are used where they are needed most in the world. Every year these funds are used in different ways.

This year some funding is needed in Kenya, Africa where the church has suffered loss due to COVID. For example, on August 24th, the Reverend Nahashon Mwaura passed away from COVID-19 leaving behind his wife, Tabitha, and their three sons. Rev. Nahashon was infected with COVID while walking with a family in his congregation through the loss of their mother. At his memorial service, Rev. Nahashon’s oldest son shared these words, “…dad you got sick in the line of duty, comforting and helping those who had lost their loved one. Even though our hearts are broken, you set a model for us of faith and service.”

This has become a devastatingly common story in recent months as the Delta variant of COVID-19 has swept across Kenya and East Africa. With approximately 4% of the Kenyan population vaccinated against COVID, hospitalizations and funerals have become increasingly common. The pain is taking a toll on clergy, both physically and spiritually.

With your support, The Outreach Foundation will help families that have been left behind with funds from Where Needed Most.

Please consider making a gift to this important Appeal. And thank you for responding to needs around the world.

Grace and peace,

Rev. Dr. Mark Mueller
