Gifts Of The Magi

They set out, and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen in the east, until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 2: 9-11

Just as the wise men followed the guiding star to find Jesus and present their gifts to Him, everyone connected with The Outreach Foundation follows a guiding star to lead us to a place where we can offer our own gifts to Jesus.

I love that the magi were “overwhelmed with joy” when they saw they had arrived at their destination. I hope we can all share that overwhelming joy as we offer gifts of our time, talents, and treasures toward the work God has placed in front of us.

We might work in the office, sharing our gifts of communication, understanding of finances, or administration. Others work in the field, taking groups to visit and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ in places where Christians struggle because of their faith. Still others visit churches and mission teams to help them discern where God is leading them to direct their funds. Our generous donors join by contributing funds to make all of this work possible.

May we kneel down to pay Him homage and offer our gifts not just at Christmas, but throughout the year.
