PAK Mission Society - Pakistan Flooding Crisis September 2025
As the body of Christ, scripture calls us to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2) and care for “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). Today in Pakistan, The Outreach Foundation brings together these two great callings for one great opportunity.
The people of Pakistan are enduring a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented scale. This summer, and continuing today, catastrophic monsoon rains and flash floods have devastated more than one million people, including thousands of Christians. Homes, property, churches, and livelihoods were destroyed. Entire villages are submerged, roads and bridges wiped out, and families now face homelessness, waterborne diseases, and food insecurity.
The context for Christians is particularly dire. These families are often located in the low sections of villages where sewage and water flow. In cities, most Christians live in slum areas, which have little support or sufficient water control measures. Disease for them is especially rampant. Sadly, for these families there is no security net. This is where our trusted partner, PAK Mission Society (PMS), steps into the gap with our help.
PAK Mission Society serves the whole person, body and spirit, without regard to religious identity. Their trained teams work with pastors to deliver life-saving aid, psychological support, and begin the hard work to rebuild communities. These teams share the gospel and show God’s love, exhibiting a relevant faith to the majority Muslim population. The results are restored lives, rebuilt communities and sparked curiosity from non-believers about the Christian faith. This is an opportunity to make an impact in one of the hardest areas of the world for Christians.
Read some of their stories:
A family in Narowal sought refuge in a church after losing their home to the devastating flood. Generations of savings and hard work vanished in a single surge, leaving them with nothing but hope in the midst of ruins.
In Zafarwal, a historic community served by missionaries in the 1800s, a local pastor and his family now live in a church storeroom. Their simple home was submerged and its roof damaged. Days later, they witnessed the crumbling of the church building constructed in the early 20th century.
The impact of our financial assistance
During our visit to Pakistan in 2023, we saw evidence of PMS’s excellent community rebuilding work. They do not just provide relief and rebuild buildings. Rather, they work with communities for several years to train leaders in community and financial management, problem-solving, and job training. PMS transforms our donations into self-sufficient communities rebuilt around Christian values. What a witness!
The needs are critical:
Immediate Relief: Food (cooked meals and dry items), clean drinking water, emergency shelters (tents, tarpaulins, bedding), hygiene kits, mosquito nets, and mobile medical camps offering psychosocial first aid. $250 can support an entire family with food, NFIs (blankets, utensils, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, and water purification tablets), and hygiene kits for two weeks.
Long-Term Recovery: Repairing homes and historic church buildings, rebuilding boundary walls so that Christians can protect their property, providing seed grants for small businesses, and vocational training for youth. PAK Mission Society identifies communities for development and works with these for five years to create self-sustaining communities built upon values of the Christian gospel.
Please pray for:
Strength and healing for displaced families, like those in Narowal and Zafarwal, facing loss and trauma
Safety and wisdom for PAK Mission Society teams navigating dangerous conditions
Open hearts to the gospel through this witness of love
Please give generously to:
Provide emergency aid (food, water, shelter, medical care) for Christian families in slums and villages
Support the restoration of homes and historic churches
Empower long-term recovery through training and business grants
