About Our Partner

Lauren Scharstein serves with the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) in Kenya as the Director of Mission for the denomination. The PCEA Mission Department has responsibility for PCEA mission schools and rescue centers, sustainable water projects, evangelism, church-planting, and global partnerships. Lauren loves connecting global partners to the work of the Holy Spirit in Kenya and becoming more deeply connected to God’s work of healing and new life through water, education, and economic empowerment ministries. She previously served as a lecturer in theology and biblical studies at the Presbyterian University of East Africa, which trains pastors and evangelists for ministry in God’s kingdom across East Africa. She has been particularly involved in ministry with vulnerable women and girls, providing training, administrative leadership, and program development for schools and rescue centers.

The Impact

Lauren has been involved in the education of more than 150 girls who are at risk of child marriage or teenage pregnancy. With the PCEA Mission Department, she has seen the completion of sustainable water and agricultural projects which are empowering vulnerable communities to care for themselves and their families.

The OPPORTUNITY

The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts to support the mission and ministry of Lauren Scharstein. All gifts of any size are welcomed to help fund training for vulnerable women and girls, as well as water and agricultural projects.
