New Church Development in Brazil — September 2022 Update

Hello, beloved brothers and sisters!

May the grace of the good and wonderful God be upon each one of you.

The Church of the Lord Jesus has been protected by Him throughout history. The church has faced many struggles and persecutions. But she has always overcome them, because the Lord Jesus is the One who sustains her during the most difficult times, and His promise is that the gates of hell will not prevail against her. We are witnesses of this truth during these last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

If these years were difficult for established churches, imagine how it has been for those being planted. If established pastors faced struggles during this time, imagine those who were starting to plant a new church. I see them as true heroes on the battlefront. Even in the face of uncertainties, they continued to believe that God is faithful. And they won and they can say: the Lord has helped us so far!

The Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil (IPIB), our partner in fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus, has been striving to plant new churches, and The Outreach Foundation has been working to find partners to plant new churches. One of these new churches is located in the city of Valinhos, State of São Paulo. This is a city with enormous potential, but its inhabitants are very resistant to the Gospel message. Despite the resistance, the church has grown, as the organizing pastor discovered that he can best share the Gospel through interpersonal relationships with good results, thank God!

The newest church being planted is called Arena Zona Sul in the city of Presidente Prudente in the west of the state of São Paulo. It is in full development. The pastor is a creative musician and is using music as a tool for evangelization with good outcomes. Many people have come and made a commitment to Jesus Christ through this methodology. It has been one of the fastest-growing churches during this time.

Another new initiative with exciting potential is taking place in the city of Mineiros in the State of Goiás, in the Midwest region of Brazil. A young pastor who is passionate about Jesus and a great visionary is doing an excellent job. We are sure that in a short time, with the support of partners, we will have a great church in that city.

We screened the pastors for the other new churches, and all of them showed high potential for growth. They are doing a wonderful job.

The Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil was launched by faith and the belief that God will provide the means of support through partners like you so that there will be, within a few years, several churches planted in these cities. We challenge you to pray and to seek God's discernment to become our partners in the planting of these new churches.

We would like to thank you very much for your faithfulness and generosity. May the Lord bless you indeed.
