San Pablo Presbyterian Theological Seminary — September 2025 Update
The 2024–2025 academic year at San Pablo Presbyterian Theological Seminary was marked by growth, global engagement, and spiritual formation. Under the leadership of Rector Amós Cahuich Yam, the seminary continues to train theology students from 20 Mexican states, as well as Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Chile, and Colombia. Many students are fluent in Mayan, reflecting the seminary’s deep connection to indigenous communities in southern México and Central America.
Reform Annual Conference
In October 2024, San Pablo hosted its annual conference focused on Reformed theology and pastoral training. The keynote speaker was Dr. Richard Pratt, former chair, and current adjunct professor of Old Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary. The event drew 250 pastors and lay leaders, offering rich theological reflection and practical ministry equipping.
Winter Term Short Courses
During January 2025, San Pablo offered four intensive two-week courses featuring lectures from three international professors and one faculty member from San Pablo. Twenty-four pastors from five Mexican states participated. Courses included:
Spirituality and Leadership – Dr. John Park
Reformed Theology, Ministry, and Spirituality – Dr. Do Hoo Kim
Spiritual Formation in Ministry to Emerging Generations – Dr. Jason Engle
Theological Ministry for Emerging Generations – Dr. David Correa
Graduation
On June 13, 2025, the seminary celebrated the graduation of 33 students:
14 received a Bachelor of Theology
3 earned a Master of Theology
5 completed an Associate Degree in Sacred Music
11 were awarded a Certificate in Biblical Counseling
