Dear Friends of The Outreach Foundation,

In August 2010 I was the pastor of historic, downtown, First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Dr. Rob Weingartner had a standing invitation to preach on the second Sunday in August. This is where I first met Rob, and I first encountered the work of The Outreach Foundation.

I still remember much of Rob’s sermon on that hot, summer day in Huntsville. I was captivated by his mission-focused sermon and his global illustrations. He was a kind, quiet, likeable guy, but his mission-thrust in the pulpit was outstanding. Before Rob drove home, I asked him to help me get more engaged in global mission endeavors. The result was that I was never the same person after I connected with the mission of God expressed through the world-work of The Outreach Foundation.

My experience with Rob and The Outreach Foundation is not unique. Thousands of individual donors, churches and organizations have had similar experiences. The Outreach Foundation is a trusted partner in the spread of the Gospel and our donations and relationships support this fact. Yet, it all started for me and for many with a visit from Rob.

As the time draws near to honor Rob Weingartner upon his retirement at the end of September 2020, The Outreach Foundation invites you to consider making a gift to one of three funds that are close to Rob’s heart.

In the next few weeks, please consider gifts to one or more of these projects:

  1. A scholarship at Mekane Yesus Seminary in Ethiopia. One of Rob’s first visits as Executive Director was to Ethiopia where God opened new opportunities for vibrant ministry.

  2. The Amar al-Hosn Retreat Center in Syria. The Center is nearly 85% complete and will serve small and large churches in Syria and Lebanon as that region heals from years of war and unrest. The Center was one of the last projects that Rob helped develop.

  3. An Undesignated gift to The Outreach Foundation to be used to build up people and projects around the globe in Rob’s name.

Please send your gifts to The Outreach Foundation with a designation of your directed gift or click here to give online. We hope to receive these gifts by September 15, 2020.

We will be celebrating Rob’s ministry virtually on Sunday, September 27 at 5:00 CDT. It will be a glorious streaming service filled with prayer and praise for Rob’s 18 years of service to The Outreach Foundation. You may view the celebration on this page: www.theoutreachfoundation.org/celebrate.

Thank you for your kind attention to this opportunity as we give God thanks for Rob.

Blessings!

Rev. Dr. Mark Mueller
Acting Executive Director
