New Church Development in Brazil — April 2023 Update

Dear brothers and sisters, servants of Christ Jesus,

I greet you with the sweet peace that flows from the throne where Christ sits with the Father and intercedes for each one of us. I hope all of you, as well as your families, are doing well, enjoying health and fellowship with our good God. After two chaotic years of the pandemic, we are happy to be able to live life again.

Borrowing the words of the Apostle Paul when he expressed his joy towards the Philippian church saying: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:3-6)

This year, by the grace of God, it has been a privilege to see the church in Brazil grow again. COVID is still in our midst. Every week we hear from someone who has tested positive. But no one shows fear for the virus anymore. Life has returned to normal, and we have noticed the happiness of God's people during services. People have come back and are engaged in ministries, serving the Lord with joy and singleness of heart.

I would like to thank you for your faithfulness. Through this New Church Development in Brazil partnership, the gospel has been preached and many people have been saved. Families in cities across the country have been assisted in their needs, and you are part of this. Thank you very much.

The IPIB Evangelization Office informed us that ten new churches have been started across the country this year. Weekly attendance grew once again. God has been wonderful to His people. He has done great things in our midst; we are witnesses of these things.

Four new churches that have benefited from partnership with brothers, sisters, and churches in the U.S.A. are:

·         Campeche, Florianópolis SC under the leadership of Rev. Odair Ap. Pinto Junior

·         Iparana, Caucacia, CE under the leadership of Rev. Osterne Mendonça,

·         Liberdade SP under the leadership of Rev. Raphael Trindade

·         Santa Felicidade, Curitiba PR under the leadership of Rev. Luis Roberto Pinho

All are doing very well.

In partnership with presbyteries and local churches, the Office of Evangelization is planting churches around the country. And thank God, they are all doing very well. The Rev. Caio, Secretary of Evangelization, is doing an excellent job. Under his leadership, all pastors who are planting new churches undergo training and are evaluated by a group of experienced pastors, including myself, as well as a psychologist. This work has made success in church planting a reality.

All these works were possible because of the faithfulness of your commitment to the expansion of the Kingdom of God here in Brazil. Odete and I have accompanied and encouraged each of these pastors in planting these new churches and worked with the Office of Evangelization so that their ministries are more effective.

Thank you so much to all of you who have loved Jesus and contributed to the spread of the gospel. May the grace of the good God continue in your life!

In Christ,

Pezini and Odete
