Pakistan Bible Correspondence School - March 2021 Update

Faisalabad

Pakistan Bible Correspondence School (PBCS) was started in 1957 with a vision to reach out to people all over Pakistan with the message of God’s love for mankind through Bible correspondence courses, and a variety of other holistic programs and projects.

We are pleased to share an update that we recently received from Adeel Samuel, PBCS Principal:

Greetings in the Lord who is our refuge, strength, and very present help in trouble!

I am thankful to God that he sustained us in 2020. Though it was challenging, his mighty hand surrounded us with his grace and mercy.

We were able to visit several different churches and schools for promotions. We distributed our Urdu and English correspondence courses to the new students. I was able to meet with pastors, key leaders, and young emerging leaders. We discussed how to reach out to people by using new and effective methodologies. In 2020, we sent 63 Torahs to non-Christians in the Urdu language; 112 Urdu Bibles, and 562 New Testaments, certificates, and other books for gifts.

One of our students from Lahore said, “I came to know from the course that our God is gracious and loves everyone without discrimination; he is Holy so he wants us to become holy too. He likes people who walk in righteousness and are true in spirit.”

One of our students from Faisalabad stated, “I am blessed to know that God loves us even though we are sinful. He doesn’t want anyone to die spiritually, and he is the creator of the whole universe.”

A non-Christian student said that God’s word is the solution for every problem.

A student from Bhawal-pur said, “After taking the course I came to know that humanity is the most important part of our lives, and I should love, care and respect every human around me regardless of race, creed, or religion.”

One of our students who has a PhD spoke, “Because of the course I came to know that as is the relationship of father and the son, so is the relationship of God and human. So God loves everyone like a father and we may belong to any religion, but we have to love each other.”

The staff is doing great by God’s grace. During the lockdown, when other offices were closed and people were not working, our PBCS staff came in to mark the courses and send them back. I appreciate the hard work of all the staff members.

New Online Course (PK039)
During this global pandemic, God opened a new door for our ministry. We are developing new video-based content for youth. This project is already in its early stages. We are hoping to launch our first online course in April 2021.

Initiative 2021
We are starting an “IGNITE PROGRAM” through which we will reach out to professionals in different cities. We will motivate them to be catalysts in society and promote the correspondence courses wherever they are located.

Partners
We are building partnerships with local leaders who have influence. We currently have 10 volunteers who are serving in their areas and promoting Bibles.

Library Project
PBCS has many students who are interested in deeper theological studies. We have students who are writing their thesis for MPhil and PhD in comparative studies but unfortunately, they do not have the books. We are planning to start a library where the Bible students can sit and read the books.

Prayer Requests
The Government of Pakistan has announced that all non-profit organizations must be registered with the Economic Affairs Division (EAD). We are thankful to God that we are working on it.

·         pray for our current students as well as new students

·         pray for the PBCS staff

·         pray for the online project (PK039)

·         pray for finances

In his service,
