Namumu Orphanage Center in Siavonga, Zambia October 2026 Update

Taking the Care Everywhere

An exciting transformation is happening in the rural village of Siavonga, Zambia. The Namumu Orphanage Center is turning the old model upside down.

The past practice was to bring children without parents or a home to live at the center. Over the years, scores of children were nurtured, educated, and blessed with God’s Word at their campus. They were given a wholesome life, a brighter future, and a firm foundation in Christ.

Yet Namumu staff realized the best way to raise children is in the heart of a family. While keeping their commitment to the teens who reside with them, staff began seeking homes for new children either with extended or foster families.

Their support does not end with these placements. Director Siakwale Matomola and his team make quarterly visits to children and families in the communities surrounding Namumu. They monitor the children’s academic progress and review their schoolwork. They provide essential direct relief to the families, including supplying them with nutritious food, hygiene products, new clothing, and school supplies. They also spend valuable time with parents and guardians and offer spiritual encouragement and guidance.

Your gifts through The Outreach Foundation make all this possible. Not only are you directly supporting these children and families, but you also made it possible for Director Matomola to graduate this month with a master’s degree in Agribusiness. Equipped with this knowledge, he plans to continue transforming Namumu so it can bless the wider region with medical care, vocational training, and spiritual guidance.

“Your ongoing commitment to our mission makes a profound difference in the lives of these children and their families. On behalf of Namumu Orphanage Center, thank you for standing alongside us in nurturing these young lives physically, academically, and spiritually,” he said.
