A New and Exciting Chapter for the Near East School of Theology

New chapters in life are like delicate sprouts—full of promise, excitement, and hope, yet requiring careful nurturing to thrive. Our partner in Lebanon, the Near East School of Theology (NEST), is embarking on such a chapter under the leadership of its new president, Dr. Martin Accad, who took office in September 2024 as the eleventh president. Dr. Accad brings a profound wealth of experience in theological education, interfaith dialogue, and leadership within academic and socioreligious communities. His vision is clear: to strengthen NEST’s academic excellence and broaden its impact and reach across the region.

Imagine the trees lining NEST’s entrance in the heart of bustling Beirut—offering shelter and life amid urban challenges. These trees symbolize NEST’s mission: to be a sanctuary of hope and hospitality, a place where faith is deepened, leaders are formed and equipped, and communities are transformed through the power of the Gospel. In a region marked by division, NEST strives to be a place of hospitality, unity, education, and spiritual renewal.

Rebuilding Through Education
Central to this renewed vision is the revitalization of the Christian Education Resource Center (CERC). This center aims to equip churches, lay leaders, and teachers with the necessary resources to thrive. The CERC will serve as a hub for developing curricula, providing training, and fostering connections among Christian educators across different regions. With an expanded library of books, multimedia resources, and online materials, the CERC seeks to empower the church in the Middle East to navigate and address today's challenges.

As NEST steps forward in faith, your support can help turn this vision into reality. Your generosity will enable NEST to expand its reach, deepen its impact, and continue to equip churches and communities to be a source of light in a troubled region. We invite you to be part of this transformative journey. Your partnership can help nurture these new sprouts of hope into a harvest that blesses the Middle Eastern church and beyond.
