Dear Friends of The Outreach Foundation,
Grace and Peace to you!
Recent events announced by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) prompt this brief note.
For over 200 years, the PC(USA) has led in the mission world. Many of us walk on the ground tilled by mission co-workers sent by the national church. With the closure of the World Mission ministry area in Louisville, Kentucky, and the elimination of all mission co-worker roles, the mission landscape for Presbyterians has changed dramatically.
We are so grateful for the work of these mission co-workers and grieve their loss. At the same time, we celebrate their faithful and fruitful work proclaiming the Gospel and spreading the Good News found in Jesus Christ.
This correspondence communicates one important truth. We, The Outreach Foundation, are still here, and by the grace of God, we will be here for many years to come. Blessed with a 45-year history of productive partnership with historically Presbyterian organizations around the world, our work now is growing rapidly as we remain committed to our existing partners and as we explore and develop invitations to new partnerships in Southeast and Central Asia, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Arabian Peninsula.
In this time of change, we remain prayerful as we continue our vital work with the church around the world, and together we herald the Gospel that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Our team would love to have a conversation with you as you discern next steps for your church's work in global mission.
To God be the Glory,
Rev. Dr. Mark Mueller
