About Our Partner
The context
In Europe, Christians face a dire situation. For decades, the church has seen much decline, and the voice of the church has been increasingly marginalized. The Outreach Foundation has seen promising renewal through the diasporic movements of Persian-speaking and Arabic-speaking communities. From the tumult of a war in Ukraine, we have been inspired by witnessing the renewal movements among European partners, too. Ukraine Evangelical Theological Seminary (in Kyiv, Ukraine) and City Church (in Lithuania) are partners doing the courageous and costly work of expanding God’s kingdom in a place where sowing the gospel is like plowing through concrete. These European friends tell us that their region needs a healthy, courageous church led by faithful servant leaders bringing holistic healing in the name of Jesus Christ. The Outreach Foundation is responding by getting behind the work of another strategic partner.
The Novus Foundation
Since 2022, when country-wide war broke out in Ukraine, The Outreach Foundation has been leaning into the discerning work of those at the helm of the Novus Foundation. Based in Warsaw, Poland, the Novus Foundation is led by Dr. Piotr and Stanisława Nowak, along with Rev. Pablo and Aneta Montano. They bring a commitment and passion for holistic kingdom work in Poland, Ukraine, and several countries in Africa, Asia, and South America. Efforts have included facilitating relief efforts, theological education, church planting training, and providing training for professional Christian counseling. The Novus Foundation has an international advisory board and is an approved partner with The Outreach Foundation.
In 2023, Novus Foundation leaders launched the Novus Therapy Center to provide long-term Christian counseling for people from Ukraine and Poland. The Center provides professional, best-practice therapy by licensed counselors, each of whom approaches their work from a Christian worldview. Clients receive counseling services to address a range of psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs, such as coaching through oncology treatments, individual psychotherapy, marriage and couples therapy, children’s needs through trauma, and war-related needs.
In spring 2024, Novus Foundation took its next step into holistic mission by providing the first-of-its-kind retreat for couples in full-time ministry. They did this in partnership with The Outreach Foundation with transformative results. The retreat had a significant impact on leaders’ understanding of the need for ministry couples to have their lives poured into by others. This was the subject of one of our 2024 partner stories, which you can read HERE.
In Fall 2024, the leadership of the Novus Foundation continued to build its vision for a transformed Poland, Ukraine, and other regions of the world through its next initiative: not only to offer professional Christian counseling, but also to prepare, train, and equip Christians to become Christian counselors through an accredited bachelor’s degree program—Theology and Counseling Studies, or simply TC Studies. With the full support of The Outreach Foundation, this vision became a reality in February 2025, as the program welcomed its first cohort of 18 Ukrainian students. TC Studies offers both in-person and hybrid formats for a three-year undergraduate degree in counseling and church planting. The degree is fully accredited by the European Union. Courses are taught in English and are designed specifically for Ukrainians displaced by the war who desire to become licensed Christian counselors. Eight months later, for the October 2025 intake, TC Studies expanded its vision worldwide and welcomed an additional 45 students—representing 17 different countries. In addition to counseling, TC Studies provides effective training for qualified church planters who are called to live in the region and see the church grow through dynamic church planting. The program is fully contextualized and brings practical Christian leadership training to the region. Through TC Studies, the Novus Foundation prepares Christians to become servant leaders with a counselor’s heart. We invite you to visit the TC Studies web site: www.en.wbst.edu.pl.
The Impact
The Outreach Foundation encourages the work of the Novus Foundation by providing scholarships for TC Studies students, resources to help with retreats for full-time ministry couples, and support for church planters.
