About Our Partner

Compassion Protestant Society (Formerly Hope for Syrian Students)

In the heart of the Middle East—amid the broken cities of Syria and the fractured neighborhoods of Lebanon—faithful servants of Christ are quietly transforming lives through acts of mercy, justice, and compassion. The Compassion Protestant Society (CPS) is at the forefront of that mission.

CPS was founded in 2019 as the diaconal arm of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon (NESSL). From the beginning, it has carried a clear and urgent call: to serve the most vulnerable—regardless of religion, ethnicity, or politics—and to do so with the compassion of Christ. CPS believes that true peace and transformation happen when people are empowered with dignity and hope. And they know that it begins not in grand gestures, but in faithful presence: a meal delivered, a child welcomed into a classroom, a mother comforted in crisis.

The work is deeply contextual. Each initiative begins by listening—really listening—to the voices of local communities. In Syria, this means responding to families devastated by war and economic collapse, offering both immediate aid and longer-term support through churches that remain beacons of hope. In Lebanon, it means standing with refugee children through education programs that don’t just teach literacy but restore childhood wonder and safety. It means addressing health and hygiene needs in communities where basic infrastructure has failed—and doing so with respect and care.

At its core, CPS is about relationships. With every project, they seek not only to meet needs but to honor the God-given dignity of each person they serve. Their values—transparency, openness, respect, learning, and partnership—are not abstract ideals, but daily practices.

When you partner with CPS, you walk alongside courageous local leaders and churches, amplifying their efforts and bearing witness to the Gospel in action.

You become part of a story that is still being written—a story of hope, healing, and transformation in places where it is needed most.

We invite you to join us.
