Elam Awakening: Hope in the Homeland | January 2026
The following story comes to us from The Outreach Foundation friend and partner Dariush, director of SafeHouse Ministries.
Supporters of freedom for Iranian people attend a rally in The Hague in The Netherlands.
Today (January 9, 2026), after the demonstration in The Hague in support of the people of Iran, Hadi and I separated from the group as we were heading home. On our way back, a woman approached us and suddenly began to cry. She said, “I need to talk to you. I haven’t heard from my family in Iran for several days.”
We invited her to sit with us, and because she was so distressed, we went into a café so we could talk and pray with her. She told us, “There is such a good energy coming from you guys.” We stayed with her, listened to her, and prayed.
After about half an hour, some of her Iranian friends arrived one by one. We invited them to join us as well. They were all worried, upset, and overwhelmed with stress because of what is happening in Iran.
Then Hadi and I began to speak with them—not with arguments, but with calm, compassion, and hope. And something beautiful happened: the peace of God began to fill that place. Their hearts softened, and they asked us, “Please pray for us.”
It was such a powerful moment. God’s works are truly mysterious and wonderful. Even in the middle of deep pain, fear, and heavy emotions, He is able to reveal His glory.
And one more thing touched me deeply: seeing how respectfully these Iranian people treated us as Christians—even though many of them are deeply hurt, angry, and exhausted because of what they have experienced through religion. In that café, I felt again that God is opening doors, and that His peace speaks louder than words.
The Outreach Foundation is listening closely to our partners who have direct ties to this region. We are relying on them to guide us as to an appropriate time to begin collecting gifts to help fulfill Jeremiah's prophecy to see a restored Iran. In the meantime, please sign up for our mailing list or follow us on Facebook to see updates from our partners as they come in.
