Bethlehem Bible College — We Wait in Hope

Greetings from Bethlehem,

A Palestinian rendition of The Little Drummer Boy adds a verse:

There are many poor children crying
There are many generations born in the war
And the world stands watching
It sees but does not want to hear
It listens and speaks but does not speak
Justice in this world has no heart and doesn't speak…
Justice in this world, for whom? And where?

In our waiting and grief over our tremendous losses, sometimes we cannot help but cry out with the psalmist, “Relent, Lord! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:13-14). Our hearts long for the joy and gladness of Christmas and the celebration of our Lord and King. We do live daily in a deep reverence for the wonder that is the Christ Child, that He was given to us here, even in our hometown!

Walking in the light, while living in the darkness is a balance for us at Bethlehem Bible College during this season. We embody the verse, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned” (Isaiah 9:2). Our students know that “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you” (Psalm 89:14), and wait in hope for the manifestation of this promise.

Training our students in the Word of God, and standing as a lighthouse for the whole Christian community in Bethlehem is a big undertaking. It requires passion, prayer, determination, hard work, and supply. In this, we need your help. We ask you, our fellow believers, to stand with us both in prayer and in helping to supply the needs we have as a college — for tuition, salaries, and all the costs involved in bringing this to pass. We are grateful for YOU, your PRAYERS, your ENCOURAGEMENT, and your GIVING throughout the year.

In Him,

Rev. Dr. Jack Sara
President of Bethlehem Bible College
