Zimbabwe and Zambia 2018 - Arrival!

by Ebralie Mwizerwa, for the team in Harare

Dear Outreach Friends,

Greetings from vibrant Harare – Zimbabwe, where we arrived last night. Our Outreach team of five (Ted and Sue Wright, Jennifer L. Ellis, Frank Dimmock and Ebralie Mwizerwa) was well-received by friends from our partner denominations (POZ and UPCSA –  not pictured but present was the General Secretary of CCAP Harare Synod). Our friends braved the rush hour to greet us – not fun in Harare these days! It took us an unusually longer amount of time to drive from the airport because of all the traffic but we finally arrived at the hotel where we are staying. The hotel was in the dark, lack of power has been a problem in the last few days. Thankfully there was light at nearby Nado’s restaurant so we could have our dinner!

Today, we will visit the CCAP Harare Synod where we will meet the new leadership and together go visit Home of Hope, an Outreach partner and ministry that cares for those who find themselves on the streets of Harare, both young and old. This ministry, led by Joan Trevelyan and her son Craig, has been feeding and caring for street people for many years. Outreach partnered with the Trevelyans in the early 2000s, and they are very grateful for gifts from congregations in the U.S. Stay tuned, we will get you an update of how they are doing after our visit today!

Grateful for your prayers,

Ebralie Mwizerwa
