Ethiopia Blog Eight: Tuesday in Gambella

by Frank Dimmock

This morning we said good-bye to Debbie Wolcott, who has been helping to facilitate the audio trauma healing training, and officially welcomed Thaddeus Gichana to facilitate the adult trauma healing session through Friday. The photo helps to demonstrate how this effort is a partnership between the American Bible Society, Serving in Mission (SIM), The Outreach Foundation and the Sudanese-American Congregations in the U.S. (specifically the one in Gallatin, TN).

We covered three lessons today, focusing on how heart wounds can be healed, grief and lament, and helping someone who has been raped. There were some difficult discussions, and at the end of the day we were interrupted by rain. The trainees were sent away with homework for tomorrow. David and I will visit the regional office for refugees tomorrow to follow-up on permission for camp visits on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Blessings,
