Presbyterian World Mission’s Regional Liaisons for South Asia
Gary and Marlene Van Brocklin serve as the Presbyterian World Mission’s Regional Liaisons for South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal). Prior to this call they taught at Montreat College (14 years) and served as missionaries to Latin America (19 years). As Regional Liaisons, Gary and Marlene connect with global ministry partners on the Indian subcontinent and help implement the three crucial global strategies of the PC(USA) – evangelism, reconciliation, and eradicating poverty. Gary is from Honolulu, Hawaii and has degrees from Stanford University and Fuller Seminary. He is an ordained teaching elder in the PC(USA). Marlene is from Merced, California and has degrees from Whitworth University, Fuller School of Intercultural Studies, and Columbia Theological Seminary. She is an ordained ruling elder in the PC(USA). Gary and Marlene have a married daughter, Annelies, and a granddaughter, Liliana.
Marlene and Gary Van Brocklin are the “face” of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for continued relationship and mission partnership with the churches in Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. They have a ministry of teaching in Sri Lanka; a ministry of encouragement to PC(USA) co-workers and national church partners in South Asia; and they serve American congregations by telling the story of what God is doing in South Asia.
The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts totaling $10,000 for support funds.
