Mark brings to his new post a wealth of leadership experience, a deep understanding of biblical stewardship and a passion for God’s mission in the world. After working for ten years as a teacher and school administrator, Mark heard God’s call to pastoral ministry, and he has served congregations for twenty-three years.

Having traveled numerous times with Outreach to visit with church partners, Mark has been serving as an Outreach trustee. He writes, “At this point in my career, I would like to focus more on my passion, spreading the good news of Jesus globally. I would like to devote much more of my time to The Outreach Foundation’s mission efforts and the support of these ministries. I have found this work to be invigorating and life-giving.”

Currently pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso, Indiana, Mark previously served congregations in Alabama -- First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville, Spring Hill Presbyterian Church in Mobile, Swift Presbyterian Church in Foley, and the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church.

Mark earned a M.Ed. at BYU, M.Div. at Louisville Theological Seminary and a D.Min. at Columbia Theological Seminary with an emphasis on Evangelism and New Church Development. He succeeds Tom Widmer who has served Outreach since 2011 and under whose leadership Outreach’s ministry with donors, congregations and global partners has flourished.

Mark takes up his duties on October 29. He and his wife, the Rev. Dr. Toby Mueller, will relocate to Tennessee, and Mark will work out of the Franklin office. Mark and Toby have two married daughters and one grandson.
