Tim and Debbie Dunn - November 2013 Update

Celebrating a Bountiful Harvest

We have several exciting new developments which we believe have the potential to significantly extend our ministry. It is with great joy that we echo the words of Ephesians 3 in saying that God does indeed do immeasurably beyond all that we can ask or think.

A Successful Business as Mission Conference

The biggest event in our ministry over the past two months has been the Business as Mission (BAM) conference that Tim coordinated. By the grace of God, we had a wonderful group of people who participated in both the conference and the two and one-half days of intensive training on BAM that followed. The logistics and finances of the events met or exceeded expectations of both the participants and those of us as organizers, thanks to a lot of hard work by a lot of people but most importantly the grace of God.

More than a dozen people participated in the in-depth training with two of the global movement’s most experienced leaders. Follow-up involves walking with the participants to help make their goals in BAM a reality. The diversity of the people who participated in the events exceeded expectations. One missionary returned from Africa specifically to participate in the conference and training and is helping facilitate connections between other denominations in other countries that we pray will lead to the growth of the BAM movement around the world.

As a result of the conference, Tim received two invitations to speak in São Paulo in the near future, one at a BAM-specific event and one at a church. Please pray with us that God will do amazing things through each of the people who participated in the BAM events. This has also been the season for mission conferences in some of the large churches here in Curitiba which has provided even more opportunities to challenge Brazilians to use their business skills as a means to expand his kingdom.

Building Community and Expanding our Outreach

Debbie’s ministry with children continues to flourish. Preparations for Christmas music are underway as well as rehearsals for the end of the year program with her recorder students. Music classes at the preschool sponsored by our local church here continue to provide opportunities to enrich the lives of students.

Our English Bible study continues to grow with several new participants joining us over the past two months. During the prayer time, we encourage participants to pray in their heart language which is a great reminder of the global community of faith. This week, we heard prayers in English, Portuguese, and Dutch.

We continue to build community with our Sepal team. As you receive this, we will be joining our fellow Sepal missionaries from throughout Brazil for our annual retreat—which will include attending to several key items of business.

…All possible only because of faithful financial partners

We trust that you are as excited about all that God is doing in our ministries as we are. Thank you for sharing in what God is doing to expand his kingdom.

For Christ and his Kingdom,

Tim, Debbie, and Jonathan Dunn
