Shanghai, a city of 30 million people and it seems like half of them are out on the street at any given moment! This is a city of young people, and they all seem to be on a mission.

Speaking of being on a mission, it is an amazing gift to be with our team taking in all that God has for us. We are grateful that our entire team arrived safely and ready to learn about how God is building His church in China.

Yesterday the high point was meeting with Mr. Ou who is an Elder at the National Chinese Christian Council headquartered in Shanghai. He took time out of his very busy schedule to meet with our team and explain how the Chinese Church operates in China.

2% of the population are Christians who worship in one of the 176 official Protestant churches. The growth of the Christian population is amazing; from three million in 1980 to more than 40 million in the recognized Chinese Christian Church today. Many million others meet in house churches.

The thing that impressed me the most was that in the 1980's the Chinese Christian Church united all Protestant denominations into one church; all Christians worshiping together under our Lord Jesus.

Today, we are off to Suzhou where we will be spending the majority of time with the folks from the Dushu Lake Church. Off we go to our next adventure learning and loving our Chinese sisters and brothers.
