Motorbikes for Rural Pastors

About Our Partner

The Presbyterian Church of Pakistan (PCP)

“How are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’ ” (Romans 10:14-15)

Much of the growth in the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan is in rural areas. Because of a shortage of pastors, many pastors serve multiple congregations. Needless to say, transportation is a big issue as they move between the places where they serve. Rev. Dr. Majid Abel, the PCP Moderator, asked The Outreach Foundation to come alongside these rural pastors by providing low-cost motorcycles that will bring big benefits for their ministry. We were able to provide twenty motorbikes around Easter 2018, but there are still many pastors whose ministries would be helped with better transportation!

The Impact

In a context where rural pastors serve congregations that are at a distance from each other, reliable transportation strengthens the service of the pastors and helps the church to extend its reach. The motorbikes remain the property of the church and are made available to the pastors who most need them.

The Need

The Outreach Foundation is seeking at least twenty gifts of $750 for a total of $15,000 in order to purchase motorcycles for use by twenty more PCP pastors.
