The Presbyterian Church in Rwanda
The Busanza community was deeply affected by the genocide in 1994. It is a poor area where the government resettled widows and orphans as well as returnees after the genocide. A heartbroken community, it is in need of the healing that only Jesus Christ can provide. The church is growing by leaps and bounds in this area. A sanctuary with a seating capacity of 600 members was dedicated in July 2013. Funds contributed through The Outreach Foundation enabled the Presbyterian Church to complete and dedicate three classrooms as part of a new vocational school building. The Vocational Training Center is now completed and was dedicated in July 2016. It is comprised of a vocational training school for both men and women and a school for special needs children. The center aspires to teach young people the skills needed to get jobs and care for themselves and their families as well as to help children with special needs. Funds are needed to equip the school and offer scholarships to needy students in the area.
Presbyterians reached out to the Busanza community, and in response many have now turned their hearts to the Lord. The Church is growing exponentially. Witnessing the school under construction and now completed brought light and hope to the community.
The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts totaling $20,000 for equipment for the vocational school and scholarships for needy students
