Church Construction in Jimma
About Our Partner
Jimma is located southwest of Addis Ababa and is known for its colleges and university which are expanding every year. Students who become part of the church during their time in Jimma are very active both in evangelism and in serving the church. The Jimma Ginjo Guduru Bethel Synod congregation grew from 500 to 2,000 members in less than five years.
The congregation has been in a makeshift sanctuary, but they have a vision to create a new sanctuary to serve as the base for their vibrant Kingdom work. They have been working on this project a long time, and the members have given sacrificially towards their building project. During this time, they have planted at least eight other churches.
When completed, this building (under the shiny metal roof at left) will be a wonderful instrument for ministry and mission. An elder at the church recently wrote, “I hope that you have heard that we have faced technical problem with the building and forced to take corrective measure on the first stair. We have now corrected the problem. We are left with the finishing part which may cost as much as $40,000 USD.”
This completion of a new sanctuary for this congregation that has focused upon the needs of others will provide them with a new, stable platform for even greater ministry and mission.
The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts of all sizes in support of the completion of the church building which is expected to cost $40,000.
