The Presbyterian Church in Rwanda
The Busanza community was deeply affected by the genocide in 1994. It is a poor area where the government resettled widows and orphans as well as returnees after the genocide. A heartbroken community, it is in need of the healing that only Jesus Christ can provide. The church is growing by leaps and bounds in this area. A sanctuary with a seating capacity of 600 members was dedicated in July 2013. Funds contributed through The Outreach Foundation enabled the Presbyterian Church to complete and dedicate three classrooms as part of a new vocational school building. When completed, the vocational school will give young people the skills to get jobs and to care for themselves and their families. Funds are needed to equip the school and offer scholarships to needy students in the area. It is hoped that the school will soon open its doors to the first students.
Presbyterians reached out to the Busanza community, and in response many have now turned their hearts to the Lord. The Church is growing exponentially. Witnessing the school under construction has brought light and hope to the community.
The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts totaling $20,000 for equipment and scholarships for needy students
