Church Construction in Jimma
in Ethiopia

About Our Partner

Jimma, located southwest of Addis Ababa, is known for its colleges and university which are expanding every year. Because of this the number of Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY) members coming to Jimma to study is also increasing. These students are very active both in evangelism and in serving the church. The Jimma Ginjo Guduru Bethel Synod congregation grew from 500 to 2,000 members in less than five years and still meets in a temporary shelter. New converts are regularly being discipled and trained. The congregation has been in a makeshift sanctuary but has a vision to create a new sanctuary to serve as the base for their vibrant Kingdom work. Once completed, this facility will serve university students and members of the community. Working stage by stage, the members have given sacrificially towards their building project, and Outreach has sent some funds. But more is needed. The next stage they are working on is the roof, and with your help this exciting project can move forward!

The Impact

This project involves coming alongside an extraordinary congregation that has put off addressing their own needs in order to serve others. The completion of a new sanctuary will provide new opportunities to deepen the life of the community and strengthen their platform for ministry and mission.

The Need

The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts totaling $30,000 towards the completion of a new building.
