CCAP Synod Zambia

The CCAP Synod of Zambia was inaugurated on October 28, 1984 and has grown from two to ten presbyteries and from 16 original congregations to 60 congregations. There are now over 500 prayer houses countrywide. The membership has increased from 10,000 to nearly 60,000. The training of leaders and ministers continues to be a priority. Building the capacity for the CCAP Church is already underway. One of the biggest challenges the synod currently faces is the accommodation of the synod offices. The building, which has now reached roof level, is located on five acres in the Chunga farm area. The land was purchased in 1997 with PC(USA) funds through Rev. Bill and Nancy Warlick, who were then missionaries in southern and central Africa. The Synod longs to complete the building, an instrument for their ministry. CCAP congregations have contributed cement and bricks for their synod building. Additional funds are now needed for the building’s roof.

The Impact

An African pastor we know said of an Outreach effort to roof churches, “You have covered our shame.” This project will strengthen the ministry of a key global partner by helping them to complete a building where their staff and ministry leaders will work and train others.

The Need

The Outreach Foundation is seeking gifts totaling $25,000 to complete construction.
