Lay leaders continue to be the backbone of the church in China. They need continual training in how to bring the millions of new believers into a mature Christian faith. In the past, The Outreach Foundation provided “mini-libraries” to lay leaders.

Last year, The Outreach Foundation began funding publication of a Chinese-language discipleship training program that pastors and lay leaders can use to bring the millions of new believers into mature Christian faith. Known as the 2:7 Series, this program has already been translated from English into many other
languages.

The Outreach Foundation has already funded 20,000 copies of this six-volume set. As feedback is received from the first 10,000 copies that are being distributed throughout China, funds will be needed to revise and distribute the next 10,000 copies.

The goal over the next three to four years is to see responsibility for this important on-going project transferred to the Chinese church. At the same time, new materials are being considered for translation and publication while theological books already in print are needed by lay leaders.
