DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING IN THE NUBA MOUNTAINS
SUDAN

The Sudan Evangelical Church had plans to start churches and schools in the Nuba Mountains of western Sudan for years, but was unable to actually enter certain parts of the region. The past few years have seen an outbreak of peace for the people of the Sudan. With the help of the Presbyterian Church of Sudan, a sister denomination based in southern Sudan, pastor Santino was sent to the Komo community, located in a rebel-controlled part of the Nuba Mountains. Pastor Santino began a church that now has over 1,000 members.
With the peace treaty, the Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church can now send short-term teachers to train new believers for two to four weeks at a time. The Presbytery of Shenango has been a leader in developing this new partnership with the Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church.
Minimum goal: $3,000 - Short term training courses for new believers
