AKROFI-CHRISTALLER INSTITUTE FOR THEOLOGY, MISSION AND CULTURE
GHANA

The Akrofi-Christaller Institute is a scholarly institution established by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Their mission is to serve the wider Christian community in Ghana, Africa and further by focusing its research and training on issues of Christian mission and ministry in the African context.

Akrofi-Christaller has become one of the premier centers for missionary thinking in Africa.  It seeks to combine academic and pastoral concerns in the environment of serious reflection and research on the life and witness of the Church in Ghana. Its staff works with leaders around the continent to develop more effective ways to plant churches in ways that fit their culture.

They are also working to help both pastoral and lay leadership in African churches learn to think of how the church can impact society in the African context.  The centre is one of four sites in Africa for an innovative course of study. Current needs are for housing for staff, increased library resources and funds to administer the increasing variety of programs.
